The Brookside Center Archive is dedicated to the preservation of the life and legacy of Dr. Maurice Kuoguell, Ph.D, F.B.H.A, C.Ht. Dr. Kouguell was a pioneer in the use of hypnotherapy to treat often intractable or unusual cases and specialized in dealing with the unexpected in therapeutic practice. With a broad academic background in education, psychology, counseling, family life therapy, Ericksonian Techniques, Time-Line Therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming and Emotional Freedom Technique, Dr. Kouguell was director of the Brookside Center for Counseling and Hypnotherapy in Baldwin, NY for decades. A dedicated researcher, author, scholar and teacher, Dr. Kouguell trained his many students in the strategies and modalities necessary to treat everything from panic attacks and severe thought disturbances and even more exotic mental phenomena such as Past Life Regression and Alien Abduction.
Dr. Kouguell served as Dean in the departments of Counseling Psychology and Family Life Communication at Westbrook University and was adjunct faculty for the National Guild of Hypnotists.
A concert-level musician, he was also the loving husband of noted artist Kathi Kouguell.
